💬 Today I sent out an offer to all my current customers: get rovers using motors faster or wait another month, but get rovers with planetary gearboxes, with which the rovers will drive better

🤔 How was it before?

From my original design to this day, I used 716 motors to keep the rovers moving. These motors are used in quadcopters ⚙️ . They have low torque , but experimentally I made sure that it’s a stretch, but they are enough to move the rover on a smooth and level surface. Any fold on the floor surface, unevenness, slope, etc. completely stops the toy 🛑 . And in general, I didn’t pay attention to all these nuances until I started upgrading custom-made rovers...

❤️ ❤️ I worry very much about the result when I promise something to another person. And even more so when I take money for work. I won’t lie if I say that the last rover was completed at night, because there was sorely not enough time. I am ready to sacrifice my time, nerves, sleep and much more in order to fulfill what I promised and for which you are willing to pay me. Because you trusted me, and for me this is incredibly valuable and important 💓

Over the past month, I have been absolutely haunted by the fact that the Rovers cannot drive the way I would like. In a way that would not be a shame to show you. I never stopped looking for a solution. And I think I've finally found it 🤔

❤️‍🔥 How will it be now

At a well-known Chinese site, I found small motors with planetary gearboxes that should fit into the rover body, but at the same time greatly improve his motor functions . And I have already ordered several pieces to test my hypothesis 👨‍💻

As soon as I can be convinced that with the help of them the rover can indeed drive much better, I will write about it here. And from now on I will make rovers exclusively on new motors with gearboxes 🆕
