The Ever Secure Meetup literally just ended at the Cryptography Museum, where the presentation of the book “Fuck Security” took place. 😅

The first speaker was the director of the Museum of Cryptography. She spoke about the history of the creation of the museum and its development. They showed an interesting video about the museum of cryptography ( who hangs out in the comments to this post ). I've been to this museum once before. I highly recommend visiting. Believe me, the level is not lower than the Moscow planetarium 😮

Then there were reports about the idea and creation of this very book, as well as an important speech on the topic “Why security is not an option and why you cannot do as it is written in the book”

I have collected for you the most interesting facts from two reports:

The book was released as a joke on April 1, 2025 in digital format

There were a lot of beta views. Therefore, we decided to release an expanded edition, which became almost twice as thick ( from 50 to 90 pages )

The book was written because they talk a lot about best practices, but bad practices are no less important for studying. The book is dedicated to them. It's important to understand why something is bad or doesn't work and what consequences it might have. The author himself calls the book a collection of antipatterns. Some kind of “bad advice” for security professionals

The book contains a lot of memes, because the author loves them very much ( support ). They are needed for easier and informal reading. Sometimes the book was hard to write because the memes were too funny and distracted from the process

The author's favorite chapter is the seventh ( in case you were interested in this )

At the moment, we have bought out absolutely the entire batch. All 1000 copies were pre-ordered in a few days

At the meetup I was able to pick up all 4 copies of the book. As I already mentioned, I will play three of them among you on this channel. Below is VERY IMPORTANT information about the competition. Who is going to participate, please read

Conditions of the competition for the drawing of the book “Fuck Safety”:

1️⃣ The competition will be held in the form of a quiz of 20 questions on the topic of information security. The quiz will be launched directly in Telegram via a bot. The questions concern different areas of information security. Each question has 4 answer options. Only one is correct. You have 15 seconds to choose an option ( Yes, you won’t be able to use neuron or a search engine )

2️⃣ The quiz starts on June 22 at exactly 20:00 ( set a reminder ). Summing up at 21:00. You will have 1 hour to complete the quiz. All results received after 21:00 are taken into account will not fight

3️⃣ Subscribers who take the first three places will receive the Fuck Safety books. If the winner is not a subscriber to the “Max Knyazev is typing...” channel, he is eliminated from the competition, and the participants before him are moved up one position in the standings

4️⃣ After the three winners become known, I will contact them to clarify the book delivery address and all necessary contact information

Happy end of the working week everyone. We remember about Quiz on Sunday at 20:00 and don't forget to relax on the weekend 🥂
