😏 How many IoT devices do you think there are in the world now?

Drum roll... 🥁

17.7 billion

I didn't come up with this - it's latest report from Transforma Insights , who seem to have decided to estimate what awaits us in the next 10 years. Spoiler: the numbers are fierce 🧐

By 2034 there will be 40.6 billion such devices. These include smart light bulbs, smart refrigerators, smart meters, and in general everything with the word “smart” ( If only there were more smart people... ) 😳

Sales will also increase - almost 9 billion devices per year 🤩

Interestingly, by 2034, 76% of all connections will still be on “simple” protocols like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. But cellular communications are not lagging behind, because the number of devices connected via LTE and 5G will grow from 2.1 to 6.7 billion. Moreover, full-fledged 5G NR out of all this is only 1.2 billion. The rest will be in the form of compromises 😉

LPWAN ( LoRa, NB-IoT and the like ) there will be 4 times more devices, which says a lot about our society ( and actually very cool ) 🙂

And now to the most delicious part. Revenue from this entire story will grow from $369 billion to $908 billion. Not thousands, not millions. Billions. The only thing cooler is crypto scam ( don't do this crap ) 🤑

65% of IoT devices will remain under PIoT ( personal Internet of things ) and various gadgets for a smart home 👍

These are the forecasts 🥳
