When I studied all the available information, I just didn’t find anything. Someone writes that this is a “total spy” and a “leaky hack”, someone claims that it’s all fakes and panic. Let's try to figure it out by turning on critical thinking🧠

I watched a certain number of videos and articles on this topic. I managed to communicate with other specialists.Reproaches to MAXenough: the use of foreign software and Ukrainian libraries, a strange privacy policy (“correspondence security is not our responsibility”), mandatory integration with Sphere and schools, rumors about government services and banks. The icing on the cake -loud statements about critical vulnerabilitiesRCE level, allowing you to remotely execute code on the device (I haven’t double-checked this, so all responsibility lies solely with the author of the video)🔐

Walking around the network at the same timestoryabout the fact that MAX secretly turns on the camera on the computer every 5-10 minutes. Antiviruses and even developers have already joined in: Max stated thatthis is a bugold versions of Kaspersky, which incorrectly signaled camera activity. And to be honest, this is more like the truth than a “comrade major’s feature” (although someone thinks that Kaspersky simply added MAX to the white list so that he would not swear at it - this statement has not been proven in any way, and I don’t like to speculate)🪄

There are alsoarticle,where the most popular horror stories are told (Naturally, with a bunch of dislikes, because people are always like this: if you praise or defend the state, you are a Kremlinbot and you paid money; if you scold the state, you are a foreign agent and you paid money.). They give interesting statistics: MAX has 63 requested permissions,Telegram - 71, yWhatsApp - 83. And all these “horrors” like access to Bluetooth, SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW or mediaProjection are available in any modern messenger (some people really get so hung up on this that articles like “MAX requires access to geolocation - Comrade Major now knows where I am” appear)📍

Well, you don’t know how applications work and what data they collect (and why;the same permission to use Bluetooth is needed to use headphones during calls, voice messages and listening to music), well, why pretend to be a specialist and scare everyone around? The presence of the MyTracker SDK also does not make the application spyware; it is a typical tool for analytics and push notifications🎰

But something else is important. There is no complete anonymity anywhere. Not on Telegram, not on WhatsApp, not on Signal. Any application collects some kind of data - the only question is what exactly it is and to whom it is transferred👮

Therefore, I would be extremely skeptical about extremes. If someone foams at the mouth and shouts that the MAX is full of holes, that you are being filmed through a camera and everything is leaked, most likely the person has a biased political position and a desire to incite horror. But you shouldn’t believe that MAX is “the safest domestic messenger” either. Everything that is launched under the wing of the state pursues quite understandable goals - I think there is no need to explain here 👮‍♀️

What would I do? I didn’t intend to install MAX on my personal device myself and I don’t have any plans to do so. I don’t sit anywhere at all except TG, where I run my channel. I don’t see any point in creating a huge number of social networks 🤔

If you yourself want to install MAX, then the master is the master. I'm not advocating anything here. If you are forced to do so at school or at work, buy a cheap Chinese smartphone and put it there. Let him collect whatever data he wants - there’s still nothing to take from such a device 🙂

And I will indicate that I have a bad attitude towards being forced to establish something for myself; competition should be fair, and not based on prohibitions of one thing in favor of something else ( hi RUTUBE )

But there is no need to panic about every “revealing” news. No one has yet shown independent technical studies with evidence ( everything that exists at the moment in the form of videos, repositories and articles is populism and only ). Therefore, I would not be afraid, but I would not trust this messenger simply “because” - even more so 🫡
