Once upon a time I did
overview of career map
from Positive Technologies. Then it was the first tool in Russia in which roles in cybersecurity were systematically laid out, and it became possible to see your path in the profession not through positions, but through real roles and competencies
🤌
Recently appeared news what the guys rolled out update . Let's talk about them today
There are really a lot of changes here. Firstly, the map has become deeper and even more practice-oriented. Now for each role there are links to articles where you can study in detail what a specific specialist does. In fact, this is no longer an ordinary scheme, but a career navigator with a “more details” button
🪄
Secondly, the tracks themselves were reworked. For example, in secure development there is now a separate path for the engineer and a separate track DevSecOps → MLSecOps
Among the new products, roles have appeared that were not previously on the diagram in principle. CISO with an emphasis on strategic thinking and architecture, presales engineer ( Now I’m actively immersing myself in this role ) and virus analyst. It is logical that the industry dictates the demand for such positions, and the scheme now reflects this. Cool
👍
There are methodological changes. The role of the teacher has been removed as a separate role - now it is an addition to any other role. The logic is simple: practitioners, that is, real specialists, teach best. Plus, the structure of the circuit itself has been redesigned. It just became somehow clearer. The eyes don't run so wide
What do I think about the current update? This is really a step forward. Now it is a full-fledged interactive tool, and not just a picture, as in most road maps ( although this is not exactly a road map ). It can help students decide on a direction, and current specialists can help plan further development in the direction of information security.
🤔
And yes, that is why such schemes are needed ( anyway, it's definitely good practice ). They reduce chaos in the market, set a common frame of reference and allow us all to speak the same language. So I recommend it. Go, watch and plan ( I attached all the links to the post )
P.S. While some people are talking about the iOS 26 update, I’m writing about updating the information security career card. P - priorities
