Today I passed my first candidate exam. There are 2 more to go ( one in just a few days, and the last one will be next semester )

Candidate's exams are required for admission to the preliminary defense of a candidate's dissertation, which will mark the completion of postgraduate studies

I took an exam in English. I prepared for it for quite a long time: in order to be admitted to the exam, I had to translate a scientific article from English into Russian ( 15000 characters ), create a dictionary of unique terms with their translation ( 500 pieces ) and prepare a bibliographic list of scientific works in English in 500,000 characters 🫠

The exam itself consisted of a written presentation in English on a passage chosen by the teacher from a scientific article, a monologue in English about his scientific work and research, as well as a retelling of the selected article in English

As a result, I passed the exam with a 5. In my opinion, a very good start. I hope it continues at the same pace 🤌

P.S. I'll take the next exam on Saturday and start writing normal posts for the channel, otherwise I have a lot of content, and my energy is spent on preparing for the candidate's thesis :)
