Appeared yesterday news that a Yandex delivery robot was robbed for the first time on Smolensky Boulevard in Moscow 😵

It was alleged that unknown persons broke into the robot's cargo compartment and stole all its contents 💀

And now the reason why I never broadcast news here, as soon as something like this appears in the media space - this news contains only half-truths 🤨

Today the Yandex press service officially stated the following:

There was no theft of valuable cargo. The sink cleaner carried by the delivery robot was not damaged. There was a hacking attempt, but we refute the fact of theft - the contents of the robot remained in place

And in fact, attempts to hack delivery robots are not particularly rare cases. In the same States, they are constantly being opened. Well, there are people like that in this world, alas. 👎

But, you must admit, the news sounds downright futuristic: “A delivery robot was robbed.” How would you have reacted to this 10-15 years ago? I'd say it's more like something out of I Robot or Star Wars in general. We live in interesting times, though. 🫡
