Hello everyone
❤️
Since here on this post you actively put reactions in the form
⚡️
, as I promised, I’m telling you about the closed exhibition from Yandex, which took place last spring. Let's start from afar and slowly pick up everything that I would like to write about. And since I again ended up with a canvas of text, I decided to split it into two posts. In the first, I will talk about how I got to the closed exhibition in the first place, and in the second, about it itself. Let's go
🚀
How did I get to the Yandex closed exhibition?
It all started after the idea came into my crazy and restless head to modify a toy rover, link which my girlfriend sent me via PM, accompanied by a message from the category “Look how cute he is” . Naturally, I bought it because it's really cute ( Well, often the phrase “look how cute” and a link to the marketplace in women’s hands turns into a hint that it would be nice to buy it )
And so he arrived at the pickup point. I took it, brought it home and showed it to the girl. That same day my head became filled with an obsession “I want to control the rover from my phone” , and a microcontroller, motors, battery and all other components were added to the shopping cart on the marketplace
👨💻
I will skip the process of modifying the rover here, because I described it in detail in article on Habré. And after its release, everything started to spin. She became most popular article from all my publications on the site
The guys from Yandex themselves noticed it. An engineer wrote to me, who actively publishes on Habré and shares stories of the development of different models and generations of Yandex stations ( and many, many others ). He said that they on the smart devices team and his colleagues on the robots team really liked my article and would like to take me on a tour of the garage where they build real delivery robots
🤖
To say that I was blown away is to say nothing. I didn't expect anything like this at all. Well, I inserted a couple of boards into the toy, wrote firmware and a mobile application, and posted an article describing all this. For me, honestly, this is something quite ordinary ( For my thesis at university, I did a project that was much more difficult ). But people appreciated it ( and I don’t have enough words to describe how incredibly grateful I am for this ). Naturally, I agreed to the excursion
But, alas, I was not destined to go on the excursion. Because for now We agreed on everything, the garage went for repairs. It happens, this is life, it’s okay, especially since I didn’t initially count on anything. But I was offered an alternative - a closed exhibition. And now we come to the topic of the next post after 400 words of introduction to what I originally wanted to tell you about ( guess who had no problems at all with essays on Russian and literature )
😊
To be continued in the next post. In it I will tell you about the exhibition itself and show photos from there.
