And here is the continuation I promised. B
last post
I told how I wrote an article about modifying a toy rover, and I was invited to a closed Yandex exhibition. This time I’ll tell you about what ultimately happened at that exhibition (
I’ll also show you photos from it
). Let's go
🚗
What kind of exhibition is this?
The exhibition was called “Art is nearby: smart devices and robots” and took place on the evening of May 30 at the Khudozhestvenny cinema on Arbat Square ( by the way, the oldest cinema in Moscow and one of the very first in the world ). Entry was strictly by invitation, which, of course, was made for me and my girlfriend in advance
🤩
This exhibition was held by Yandex together with the Creative Industries Agency. And it was dedicated to my favorite topic - the symbiosis of art and technology
😊
In the lobby there were custom versions of rovers and Yandex stations, which were painted by different artists and designers. There were also waiters walking around with glasses of champagne and small snacks. There was a very pleasant atmosphere
🕺
The foyer gradually filled with people. Everyone talked and took pictures. There were also media representatives and various bloggers
🌟
After some time we were invited into the hall. The girl and I sat and looked at the stage. The head of the team of smart devices and robots at Yandex came out and was the first speaker. He talked about the collaboration itself between two such different organizations. After him, the general director of AKI appeared on stage. Both speakers were interesting to listen to. They talked about the connection between modern technology and creativity and art. The exhibition itself was timed to coincide with the start of a joint project between Yandex and AKI, within the framework of which different artists and designers in Russia could customize delivery robots in their own style, which would then actually drive around the city in such colorful and elegant colors
🤩
After the speakers' speeches, a concert took place. Yes, not simple - with Yandex stations. The quartet, consisting of violinists and a cellist, played various medleys of classical music together with 10 Yandex stations, each of which replaced one or another instrument of the symphony orchestra. It was something. Very beautiful music, the musicians played very well. And it was not at all noticeable that smart speakers were replacing 10 out of 14 instruments. It was an extremely interesting and unusual symbiosis of art and technology. My girlfriend and I were very impressed
❤️
After the concert, the event ended, and we went for a walk around the evening city center. The end 🔚
This is such an interesting story it worked out. I decided to post photos and videos from the event in the first comment to this post.
Many thanks to those who read the previous and this posts to the end. You are my most loyal subscribers ( and people who really like to read )
