Let's start with why this model is so cool that I already bought it for my collection

First of all , this is the second generation of Apple laptops with Intel processors ( yes, before that the apple company produced solutions based on PowerPC processors ) 🍏

Secondly , this is the latest MacBook Pro in this design, which it inherited from its predecessor - the PowerBook G4 ( Since 2008, the MacBook Pro line has received a more familiar design, which can be seen in the latest models ) 🤩

Thirdly , this is one of the most prominent representatives of his time ( and nostalgia for 2007, as we know, is irresistible ) 🤘 On the Internet you can find photographs of Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev ( at that time the President of the Russian Federation ) with this laptop

For me, it is also significant because it was in 2007 that I went to first grade. At that time I didn’t have a laptop at all ( The first one was given to me by my parents for my 10th birthday in 2010 ). And this poppy is my opportunity to remember what the time was like, which I caught, but which is stuck in my memory with completely different moments and things. Let's dive into this wonderful time. What about the configuration? 🎁

I received this MacBook in a complete original set - a box with a carrying handle, a charging cable with a power supply, instructions, installation disks with the operating system, stickers in the form of two bitten apples, an adapter from DVI to VGA, a remote control for switching slides and other things, the laptop itself in its original envelope and even a foam pad for the keyboard

Now such a set seems something incredible, but for its time many considered it quite meager ( yes, I prepared and read reviews of my Mac the year it was released ). As well as the number of laptop ports, of which, for a second, there are as many as 10 ( 2 x USB 2.01 x FireWire 400 1 x FireWire 800 1 x ExpressCard/341 x DVI-I (digital output to external monitor)1 x RJ-45 (network)1 x microphone input1 x headphone output1 x CIR IR port for remote control ). I wonder if these experts thought then that 17 years later our devices would have 2 times fewer ports ( if it's just not 2 ports )

And the laptop then which one? 🍏

In the best Apple traditions, the body is made of aluminum with a small number of plastic inserts. By modern standards it weighs a lot - a little more than 3 kg. There is a keyboard backlight ( the clave itself, by the way, is fire; better than some modern laptops ) and the canonical glowing apple on the lid. Everything looks more than expensive and worthy (By the way, this MacBook Pro cost us 85,000 rubles for the period 2007-2008 )

This model has a disk drive ( which was not surprising before, but now the very fact of mentioning this word in the context of a review of a laptop is striking ). 4 gigabytes of RAM, 120 GB hard drive ( yes, no SSD ) and even a whole dual-core Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 processor

I must say that the laptop works quite vigorously for its age and technical characteristics. Without freezes, without long loading times and various bugs. Even the camera works quite well ( and by the way, I was very surprised by the quality of the picture )

What about the software? 🍏

My copy has an operating system Mac OS X 10.7.4 (Lion) - the last operating system it supports, released in 2012. As for user applications - well, actually, everything that runs on Lev 🦁
