We continue the stories about the competitions
🫡
In the past post I wrote about my very first JuniorSkills competition in the “Internet of Things” competency. This time I'll tell you about Robofest 2016
😉
In 2016 there was VIII All-Russian robotic festival "RoboFest-2016" . As I remember now, in mid-April, for 3 days in a row, from morning until evening, I and other enthusiastic guys were in pavilion 75 of VDNKh. Wearing matching T-shirts with the name of the festival, we sat and worked on our systems. They competed in different directions. What was there: AutoNet, RTK Cup, Android robots, JuniorSkills...
By the way, in the next hall of the pavilion there was a very large exhibition, where various stands of technical companies were presented. Ours and foreign ones ( yes, guys, there were stands of Intel, Microsoft, Dell, HP... now it’s hard to imagine this ). During breaks at competitions, the guys and I walked there with our eyes bulging. It was something so unknown and interesting for boys of 14-15 years old that there was nothing to compare it with. It just needs to be felt, but we digress a little
😅
The commission included foreign guests with whom we communicated in English ( well how could they ). I remember once a foreign jury representative approached me. I didn't expect this so much ( I was still writing code at that moment, and at these moments I have difficulty answering in Russian ) that all his questions were answered simply “Yes”. This is how my English level spontaneously and rapidly dropped to Elementary
😵
Guys from different cities competed with us in the Internet of Things track. The teams were very strong. For us, those competitions were the second in our careers. I won’t languish, we only borrowed 3rd place . Unfortunately, such a miracle as at the first competitions did not happen. And yet we took the prize. As gifts we were given kits with Arduinos and sensors from the company MGbot ( which I was much more happy about than my medal and diploma for 3rd place )
🤩
We were invited to the next stage, which took place in Crocus, but we couldn’t ( Exactly on those dates my friend and I had an OGE in computer science ). Therefore, we got to the next competition only in the fall of 10th grade. And that's it I will tell you about them in the next such post
🙏

"Robofest" is one of the largest technical festivals in the world. As part of Robofest, competitions in various areas and competencies are also held.
